I'm using a mac os x and i've never seen the file format for downloading the psx games. I need help in how to change the files so i can play them on my psp or anything i might need to add to the file so i can play them, like a key.bin. i know having a mac could be different from doing it on windows but if i can at least figure out how to it on windows i might be able to take it from there, but if you know how to do it on mac even better. thanks for any help

Ugh, I know WinRar for Windows and extract 7z and I use p7zip for Linux; dunno about Mac but if push come to shove you could run WinRar under windows emulation.

    You can use Stuffit Expander.

thanks so far for the help, but now i've come into the problem of installing libusb so i can use the app promethius... i have the .pkg and i downloaded the macports but they don't seem to be installing. I know i'm starting to talk real mac talk now, but any info would be helpful. if there are any mac users out there who would like to get as far as i am i will give you a link to see what you can do.
