im hopefully gonna be in possesion of a 6o gig 5th gen ipod soon! it might not be much now but my previous players were a 2gig creative zen stone and 4gig creative mozaic. i dont support apple so i will not be using itunes. i want any help or suggestion to make the ipod work like my old mp3 players. they worked just like regular flashdrives with the way you put music on them (drag and drop) what do you guys suggest for the ipod?? im thinking of Rockbox because you can play pokemon yellow on it!! but i cant tell if it also works to manage music. Also it would be nice if the software stayed on the ipod so i dont have to download it if i use a new computer. sorry for all of the text!!
yes rockbox will make it work like your previous mp3 players (I have rockbox on my iriver) With the apple firmware, I believe you are forced to use itunes.
I got curious about this myself...this is what my friend said about ipods...might work for iphones... Because I'm limited right now I can't confirm, best thing to do is try these and report back, it might help others
