http://www.tomshardware.com/2008/02/25/fujitsu_announces_500_gb_notebook_hard_drive_/ i couldn't believe it. if this is possible, then it maybe possible that the 3.5 format maybe killed sometime in the future. but then again the 3.5 bulky size can have more room for more platters which mean more space. i know they aren't fast, but for it's size and power savings, it beats the 3.5 which can consume alot of power and create heat.
not a chance, 2.5 drives are slow, low capacity and less tolerant of poor airflow. I would never use a 4200 or 5400 RPM drive in a computer after having 7200rpm drives.
What you really want are the fusion i/o drives but since they aren't readily available then you want to get yourself some SSD's!
poor capacity and relatively short life. Plus the bottleneck moves from the disk to the storage controller so it's not much faster. 15KRPM Seagate Cheetahs for the win
