http://pspslimhacks.com/custom-firmware-5-50-gen-d3-released/ Not many new features except for adding more compatibility for newer games. However, while I'll download it soon, I shan't upgrade...not until I get my bonus code for gran turismo going... It seems from reports this can't go on psn...so i need to flash to ofw for the moment If anyone here tries this...please add some comentary about it http://pspslimhacks.com/custom-firmware-5-03-gen-c-released/ For psp 3000 user's using chickHEN Same stuff...just different method of use. Needs chickHEN r2 and *IMPORTANT* your firmware to be on 5.03. Any higher and you have no chance at using this..NOT for pspGO users.
it's pretty neat, but i still get the same dns error code for internet.....all the time with that... but i got on the PS store once before my psp wouldn't connect to my wifi again.... i like it! for some reason it seems to load the screens a little faster when scrolling through the games. it also fixes the issue of not being able to see the game description as in GEN D2....it was my theme that was causing the dns error code and the game description glitches.... i like it better than D2, but it doesn't offer that much more. i think it's worth the upgrade! it took me over 10 minutes to download it due to the high trafficking when it first came out around 9 pm EST!!XD
if it's firmware is 5.03 or below. anything higher than 5.03 on a 3000, then you can't hack it at all.
So I won't be able to tell what firmware version it is until I get it home and then open up the PSP and check its innards. I guess it doesn't say it on the box and I guess salespeople won't know either. Just to clarify, I can download and play full games, not homebrew, but real games like downloaded ROM NDS games.
if it's used, then you can just check the firmware on it at the store. but if it's new, then you won't be able to tell. Just turn it on, go all the way to the left and scroll down to system settings and scroll down more until you get to system information. and then you can see which firmware is on it. yes. you can play downloaded psp games on it if you hack it and if the firmware is or below 5.03.
you're welcome maggie! i just looked at my psp's board with iXplora 1.8, and my mother board is TA88 v......1......so close to being unhackable all the way....
