well im not sure if it should be here but on the 3DS Release will you be able to allow the roms to be downloaded upon uploading the file or will the file still be protected by the ESA and again will be permanently blocked as is the normal DS roms

    From mars427 :)

first the 3ds needs to get hacked in order to do that. and if i recall, the ds took like a year?

I think they will be blocked, since its the company they block the games for.

How do you upload games from a handheld anyhow?
Is there some kind of special connection which needs to be created to connect the cartridge directly computer or are they uploaded from a hacked console?

You run a homebrew program on your Flashcart, take the flashcart out (power still on) and put the game in. Then you use running homebrew program to copy the data from the game cartridge to your GBA Flashcart in slot 2 or to your PC over WiFi using an FTP server.

    Thanks, that's pretty interesting!
So games can't even be uploaded from the 3DS until it's hacked/a flashcart is developed.

Didn't Nintendo say it's never going to be hacked? So yes, lulznever.

Either a flashcart or a device to connect the cartridges to your PC. There has to be some method of copying the data from the cartridge to the PC, or a place the PC can access.

Too expensive. The thing costs as much as the Wii did when it first came out.

Yeah, but now it's been torn completely open, way more than anything before it.

Wasn't the exploit quickly fixed as well? Or does it still exist?

Is it the one requiring the Jailbreak specific model iPhone, or another one?

(I really don't follow the PS3 scene as much as I probably should).
