Hello I currently run an 32bit operating system and I am wanting to install a 64bit of windows7ultimate but when I click the application, it says that it is 'not compatable with the version of windows I'm running and to check my computers information.

I know my laptop is able to run an 64bit os but it won't seem to install.

Is there anything I can do to install it. ?

People on irc might know my specs and stuff

    -thanks-

It doesn't come as an Application...Just burn the ISO/W/e to a disk, and boot from it. Delete all the partitions, and format it. Install.

FYI, 64bit OS is normally only necessary if using More than 4GB of RAM AFAIK...

And also, your CPU may not support it if you get an error.

Also, make sure you have a minimum of 2GB of RAM I believe...

The thing is I don't have a disc with me and when I extract the files it has an

    Bootmgr - file
    Bootmgr.efi - efi file
    Setup - application
    Autorun - setup information
    Other folders

Any suggests since I have installed a 32bit operating system through extracting the files then running the setup before.

Also I have 4gb of RAM and I feel running 64bit would benefit me

Try mounting the image and running it...doubt it will work though. =/

I've only seen people be able to install an OS like how you're wanting to is like if they're going from vista to 7....

So there is no way to upgrade your software if you have downgraded to 32bit. Sounds stupid, :(

Is there a program on the computer that you use to format ?

And I really want to make sure that I could do it without a format.
