I read that when a PSP is done charging, the charger (orange) light goes off. Mine never goes off (One time I turned my PSP on to check the charge level and it said 100%, and the charge light hadn't turned off), so without turning it on how am I supposed to know if it's done charging? When a PSP is charging, how are you supposed to tell if it's been turned off and not put in sleep mode? Because I just checked my PSP's charge (I was sure it'd be fully charged by now) and when I tried to turn it off, the power light was still the charging light and it didn't blink. I waited until the screen was off (backlight and all), but I'm not sure if I turned it off or not. Is a PSP's charger/AC Adapter supposed to get hot when charging a PSP? Is a PSP supposed to get warm when charging it?
The light won't shut off if you have the PSP turned on while charging. It only turns off when it is in sleep mode or off while charging. I usually just pull out the charger to turn it off, but mine is always in sleep mode. It's loads easier. You can't really tell when the orange light is on. Perhaps. Just keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't get too hot. My PSP is a little toasty after charging. So is my phone as well and the charger. I think it's a common thing. Just try to keep it in a cool area while charging if it is a concern.
...the psp being warm Im not sure about, the adapter is meant to be warm, not HOT but warm. A psp should take about what...2 3 hours to fully charge (soemone confirm this please) What I do to make sure it's fully off if to hold down the power button until it shuts off, then release the switch, or you could just hold it down for a second, but I prefer my way...a quick flick is stand by always. And is the battery third party or official-please open the battery cover and have a look, and also what brand the charger is...if both are sony I'll assume no issues. I hate third party accessories, especially the electrical kind.
The adapter gets hot, actually. About as hot as a laptop that needs a new fan or two. And yeah, 2-3 hours. Same as with my DS. The battery and AC Adapter both have Sony on them. So I'll assume official. And hmmmmm.......
Well let me ask this... When you hold your hand on the charger, does it burn? If it gets that hot something is wrong, and I mean like the second you touch it it burns. I just noticed my ps3 one being quite hot now and that works with my psp...
It doesn't burn, but my mom was concerned about it because she doesn't particularly like it when chargers get hot... Because of all the reports of chargers blowing up and shit. So I had to ask just to make sure.
The light will goes off if your PSP has fully charged in sleep/standy by/off mode, while it will goes green if it was on. Yeah, some may only need 3 hours to fully charged, if not, maybe around 4-5 hours.
OOOOH. The way everyone was saying it on the sites I looked at, I thought the light would go off even when the PSP was off.
Place shock-proof glass around the charger. Or just put it inside your dog, if it blows up, you'll know. Anyways, My charger always gets hot, and so does my PSP. And recently, it stopped charging my PSP altogether.
