Hi, I have an N-Card with stabkle menu 2.53 but I don't know where tob look for the firmware version but I cannot get Wall-E to run.

The game starts up but when I hit the new game link I get a message:-

The data could not be written. Turn power off and remove and reinsert the DS card.

OK I truied this proceedure a couple of times to no avail.

Do I need to upgrade the firmware or something on my N Card, if so how is that done?

    Regards

    Kirk

Go to http://www.linfoxdomain.com/nintendo/ds/ and download the latest firmware. Then once downloaded, extract the archive, and take every single file and place it on your card, and overwrite the previous firmware files.

Check out tutorials section if you have some problem with emulation.

Thanks for the pointer but where do I find the current frimware version number that I have so I can find the newer one.
I think the version number on mine that I do see where it says stable 2.53 relates to the menu system (moonshell) or something is this the firmware version number (2.53), so I need to find a later one that this?

    Cheers

Well, you look for N-card on the page. The latest firmware is v2.55, so I think you should update.

Hi, I have done the firmware update, thanks for the help with that.

The game however still refuses to run, I am still getting the same message about removing and reinstalling card.

Prehaps this rom is not compatible with the n card.

    Cheers :(

I have had same issues for WALL-E and Incredible hulk too.. I don't know if there is a problem with my R4 but all the rest of the games are fine.

What are you using to play the ROM? Flashcart or Emulator? If flashcart, update your firmware, also delete your save file, and also reformat your card, such as MicroSD etc. If emulator, update the version, and change the save type accordingly in the Emulation Configuration until it doesn't display that message.

Which brand of MicroSD? If you've already updated the firmware to the latest, make sure to backup all your data first (copy all your files on your MicroSD to your computer), then connect your MicroSD to your computer, and then right click it in MyComputer and go Format, then Quick Format, and then choose whatever FAT you want.

I have a san disk 2gb micro sd, If i back up all files to my computer and download the latest firmware will it automatically overwrite the old firmware?or do i have to delete the old system files and replace it with the latest version? but i also am a novice at computers so i dont know which FAT to choose. Thanks.

Yeah, once you download it, extract it, and then put all of the files onto your MicroSD, which will update the firmware by overwriting the previous files. No you do not have to delete the old firmware. Just choose FAT32 and if that doesn't work, try the other FAT.
