2 gamers, monitors, sets of keyboard and mouse, 2 games on one PC

Is it possible to for two players with two sets of keyboards, mouse’s and monitors to play two games at the same time on one PC? The gaming PC has two video cards so two players can play at the same time. They were playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, one on one on the same PC! Note: This wasn’t made up by me; it was made up of my cousin’s friend’s brother’s …. Uhhh, I lost the connection on who made it up in the first place. Anyways, I asked my cousin a few questions, “Doesn’t two players’ keyboards going to interfere with each other?”

He said that there is this program that will allow two sets of keyboard/mouse for each player. Kind of like how Player 1 connects a game console controller and use it so Player 2’s controller won’t interfere with each other. I was like, okay but how can a PC control two games at the same time? He said that there is a program which allows a PC to run 2 OS’s at the same time (like a Virtual Machine) and moves one OS to one side and the other stays where it was. They both run COD6 on a Core i7 Extreme Processor which was on Turbo (or was over-clocked) to like 3.6GHz (the owner of the gaming PC is like super rich and has two Ferrari’s, a few Porche’s and a bunch of other rich people’s cars. He apparently gave my cousin’s friend’s brother a gaming PC and an XBOX 360 Elite. Anyways, is this even possible or is he lying?

Here is a list of things they used:

1 damn-fast gaming PC with 16GB DDR3 RAM, Core i7 and two NVIDIA graphic cards
    2 gamers
    2 monitors
2 sets of keyboard, mouse and headset
A bunch of wires and cords

Two games running at the same time
If it’s still confusing, comment on this and I’ll try to make it more “understandable”

When I was doing basic pc course, there was 5 monitors, keyboards, mouses in one CPU BOX.
But to play heavy games I dunno well.
If they assembly it correctly there wouldn't be any problem, the only problem I think is if it'll handle it.
At start will need a mother board model BIOSTAR with PCI-E express 2.0 (biostar mobos can handle two or more hardware items).
They'll need a operational system of 64 bits architeture. (Windows 7 Ultimate x64 recomended).
A ram memory.. humm only one person uses 4gb, get the double, get 8gb.
HD memory...more than 320 gb of cource.
A Voltage source with large real voltage, more than 600 watts will be needed, also the CPU box will be very hot, get a water cooler for processor, 4 or more custom fans in the CPU BOX...
Processor will need a Core Quad, get the Intel Core Quad Q9550, if they can, get a Q9650.
The VGA hmm....maybe 2 Nvidia Geforce GTX260 overclocked to 216 processors.
But I really dunno if it will work, maybe someone else can reply it with sure.

They why don't he buy two high ended PCs?
    MUch easier fo' rich people.
He and his partner can play, uses the pc separatelly, nobody interferes.
    Much, much easier.

Tell him that 2 separatelly PCs can be cheaper than one with 8 gb of ram, Biostar PCI-E express 2.0, etc...

no, its not possible. Not without specialised hardware and even then you probably cant run games on it.

I thought that to, but I wasn't so sure, just like in my course, 5 pcs in one, but could just do basic stuff.
But it's cool, I've learned a good lesson today!

StarDock has a program called multiplicity that controls up to 7 computers with a single keyboard and mouse.

I agree with Loonylion, read the question! Controling 7 PC is like a server, I think...
