Is there 2 versions of New Super Mario Bros for ds? My friend got the game and it looks this but mine looks like this What is the different in these game and why can't we play the first one on a dsi?

Sorry too say this mate, but you're wrong. One is from Europe and one is from the US. It won't work on the DSi due too its mild lock, same reason why Jump Ultimate stars wont work on DSi.
I am sure that dsi has no reigon lock(for games) since I own a euro dsi and my US,Europe,and Japanese(ouendan) games work on it. BTW I ounce bought a fake ds game which looked real but it didn't work,so yours might be the same case.
This game come long out BEFORE the DSi! So how you guys are able to talk that the other is a DSi version PS: the boxart of the U and E versions can be different!
My friend has asked Nintendo and we are waiting for an answer from them. We both believe its a fake - sold on QXL and we want it stopped...

Nintendo har answered my friend and it's a fake ALL versions of NSMB should be played in a dsi. Its a good copy - but a copy. So she has contacted the sellar and got her money back...
