I started experiencing an issue recently where cmd.exe fails to "start" upon a full system shutdown.

My usual, initial reaction was "Virus Alert~!". So I did a full system scan, but to no avail as the scan showed no virii present.

So I next did a scan with "Malwarebytes" thinking the next possible cause, malware. But still nothing.

I was about to whip out the "last resort (combofix) before the final resolution (a full reformat)" when I came upon these forum discussions on the net:

And as it turns out, the problem is caused by an incompatibility or stability between an update for Nvidia's GeForce Experience app and one for a Microsoft Windows update.

    What a hassle~! :p

At least I don't have to use combofix nor nuke my files with a reformat :D

Way to go Microsoft and Nvidia :p

    So according to this article...

    http://www.anandtech.com/show/8782/win7-driver-issues-microsoft-amd-recommend-uninstalling-kb3004394

.. all I needed to do is to uninstall that one update.

hmm I get that, and I always thought it was nginx. Never caused a problem though.

I'm having a bit of difficulty uninstalling this KB3004394 update as I can't find it on "Programs and Features > Installed updates anymore. But on Windows update History it's there.

Mayhaps I'd need to do a system restore?
