Better alternative than the Wii and the PS3 at the time, I bought mine around when the PS3 came out. The PS3 sucked on launch. 360 by that time had a huge huge head start.
It has more games I'm interested in at the moment. PS3 has some games that I'd absolutely love to get one for too though admittedly but they weren't enough to justify getting one in regards to how I base console purchases.

Post Merge: [time]1265849329[/time] the money that you save on buying a xbox instead of a ps3 will be used for the wireless card (60 dollars), to play on LIVE, you have to play more money for the subscription! Ps3 network is free. OverAll i like the ps3. Not for everything but overall!
Other - My boyfriend had one, so I bought one too. About a year ago. I play just as much if not more than he does.
I sadly got mine for the wrong reasons. I already had all the other current gen consoles, so I thought I might aswell complete the collection and pick up the one I didn't have. Really though, I got it for Forza Motorsport 3. Any game that has V8 Supercars in it has my money being spent on it.
I got it because I can play GTA 4 in that time... I love this console... can't live without it... haha...
GTA stories is on PS3 now too, my XBOX died 6 months after purchase. Very unfortunate. Seriously, your XBOX will RROD in about 2 hours of playing this game, there is no way it can handle the graphics, especially cause mine died on Fallout 3. Seriously.. Fallout 3?
