    You are forgetting, Toriyama's other works are mostly Slapstick humor based. And Toriyam was actually Appalled at one time at how much the fans wanted DBZ to go violent. If you compare DBZ with the earlier iteration Dragon Ball (when Goku was younger) you can clearly see how darker DBZ is than when the series started out.

    Yes I agree, Namek saga is a bit boring, and really confusing (They made Yamcha, Tien and Chiotzu stronger than the Ginyu ??? )
    But i dont want to see another 'Yo! Son goku and his friends returns'
