Ever since school I wanted to make music...

I tried a ds homebrew app (but makes wav format...and is limited thanks to it's "find and edit" mentality) I found a few but..meh.

    Here is what I need...

-Comes with pre-set notes/tracks so i can arange my own

    -Can be techno or rock/drums

    -Prehaps lyrics can help?

-Ability to record your voice if need be

-Edit and prehaps add your own/found music "blocks" (say rip a verse from an mp3 track and use it-while distorting it for the fun of it)

-If possible-ability to adjust the waves (forgot the actual name-but I'd like the cut and paste certain parts of songs I might have made-turn start into end isntead of rebuilding the dam thing)

-Big one-USER FRIENDLY FOR A NOOB!

...can be 2 seperate programs as well.

I forgot the one my music teacher shown me years ago-I think it was...fruit loops or something ???

And the other program...I also forgot-for editing waves (we redone sweet home alabama-while it had the exact same music and lyrics we swapped the words about...it became quite catchy...)

So-any suggestions-free download and tools to use would help but...I think I can work my way around :)

You're asking for quite a lot here, most music creation software is pretty complex. the professionals use things like cubase, sony sound forge and sony acid, but they don't exactly qualify as easy to use. I used to have one called prodj, but im not sure if it exists anymore. for wave editing you want something like cooledit (used to be freeware so should be available somewhere).

Oh-they can be 2 seperate programs for the wave editing.

..I could have sworn one that I tried was fruit loops or something-but the sony ones I might give a shot...

Cooledit is simple enough. These days it's called Adobe Audition.

I use Audacity for recording, you can add some great plugins to it!
