is there a relatively secure way to speed up a disk recovery scan? i'm using R-Studio to scan and hopefully recover files from one of my sister's old computer, and after scanning it for (when initially posted) roughly 32 hours, i'm only at having completed less than 10 GB of a 300 GB hard drive, with a program-predicted 1 month, 7 days left to finish the scan. her hdd is a december '09 Hitachi HTS545032B9A300, and i'm using R-Studio 5.4.134259

EDIT: This time was actually the second time I opened it in the same program, as the first time i found it rather unusual for it to take longer than just a couple hours

no there isnt. If there's disk issues then it might just be having trouble accessing that part of the disk and will speed up when it gets to a good part.

dang, no sooner do you say that, then i wake up to discover it had jumped up from the 10 GB, and has (currently) scanned almost 150 GB!

at any rate, thank you for the insight!
