Hey guys, been a while since i made my last post.

I just bought a replacement laser lens for my ps2, and installed, all find and dandy. But when i put in a disc, it just goes into the browser, says reading disc, then does nothing. Any ideas?

How long are you letting it read it?

Sorry for reviving an old topic, but i still cant manage to fix it, and i have no idea where to find any professionals that can fix it where i live, silly New Zealand. If anyone lives NZ, know where to get them fixed? Our friend google cant help. And the screws arent very tight either.

Take it to any Sony Service Centre in NZ. They should be able to help. Servicing the lens for PS is no different to servicing a DVD/VCD player. They should manage. Sorry, I don't live far down there, but we're almost neighbors. I do not need Google to know that the sheeps population out numbered humans down there. :p

Would they still accept it even after i've taken it to bits? And yes, there are lots of sheep.

Normally they still would, as long as you don't ask for guarantee because as according to the warrenty term of use, you've tempered with the device makes it automatically void, but they'll normally still accept your console for servicing. And if it still does not work, you don't get to ask for them to take the responsibility. So...yes...they normally still would service your console but with normal service fee.

Well, i dont think i should worry about the warranty, the ps2 is like 6-7 years old anyway.
