Nearly a year ago an Oil Refinery called Amuay blew up, literally, there was a rather big fire on the area but was quickly cut, afterwards the forensics teams started their research, yesterday the Minister of Oil and Energy Rafel Ramírez made the report on the incident, important points in bold.

    • The Part that Blew up was the strongest section of the Olefin pump machine.
    • Said part is screwed by a number of well screws, 7 of these 8 were found un screwed in different degrees.
    • A number of tests were carried, said screws cannot become lose due to vibrations, they can only be removed by hand (aside the fact the machine had been working for 52 years)
    • Tests were carried via simulation by unscrewing a number of them at random and leaving others in the place, the machine did not blew up nor leaked Olefins.
    • Test also indicate we got lucky, pretty fucking lucky, due to abnormal conditions (the Lara State is known to be very dry for most of the year) rain poured over the Olefin cloud dispersing it.
    • Test indicate that if there was not such condition the winds would have carried the Olefin cloud to the Zulia state oil refineries blowing them up given the nature of the product.

In conclusion some one sneaked in and removed said screws thus causing the machine to miss function blowing up and given the known conditions it was probable the responsible one wanted to cause a large scale disaster, accident was ruled out by forensics.
