Also im really new to all this stuff like Roms and everything so if you do have any information steo by step would be really appreciated. Also I hope I am writing this in the right forum...if not, please re-direct me. Thanks ;)

Well R4 can't play Miami Nights even with the latest kernel and since M3 Simply is exactly the same, it'll probably won't work. But you can try updating to the latest kernel by going here http://linfoxdomain.com/nintendo/ds/ and clicking on M3 Simply.

Yes the english one. In R4 terms it's called a kernel. Unzip it and drag all those files onto your microSD card presuming you have connected it to your computer. If it says overwrite, Click Yes To All then it will be updated. People say to backup all your files before doing this. You can if you want or if you're a safe person but I've done it plenty of times before with backing my files.

hmm sounds risky....im not even sure how to back up a file. but there is no specific folder this should go into?

To backup a file, just copy it and save it somewhere else.

You should just drag all the files in the update to the root folder of your microSD and overwrite the previous update files.
