ok for the first time i have reason to belive that fake dstt cards are bad for your sds health. i helped a freind setup a dstt with the latest firm ware. we put the dstt in and the red x came up indicating the dstt was fake. then the ds started to smoke and get verry hot. im assuming my freinds ds is beyond repair at this point. if anyone has a idea what he can do please respond.
Well, there is the tried and true method of buying another, but I guess I see why that's unappealing. You could send an email to Nintendo, maybe they'll ask you for it, and troubleshoot it for you, like Microsoft does with Xbox's. I'm not really an expert on the smokings of a DS, maybe tell it that it'll get cancer, I dunno.
Don't buy fake cards? You're asking for trouble. And it's not like the ndstt page didn't warn you or pinpoint you about the possible risks...
Always buy real cards but even with real ones your ds can get ruined, i tried to start a GBA rom on my m3 and my ds started to get really hot, there was noice coming out of it and out of the GBA slot and NDS slot was coming loads of wind, good i turned off my ds quickly
..wtf? Must have been made to kill your ds or something...that's dangerous to your health if the battery lit up!
if you buy a flashcart, try from most known retailer. Like GameByGame(Dealwoot). So if that happends to smoke, you can sue them up :lol:

dude bought a ds with old battery that leaked carts dont do that so get a life plus you are stealing roms
I highly doubt the DS smoked but it might have smelled "cooked" (The term I apply to any laptop charger i screwed up) and been hot. Since I don't have a DS or an R4 card I wouldn't know but I highly doubt that the DS started smoking unless you put a cigarette near it and asked Solid Snake to make it start smoking.
