I can remember how when I got my first burner drive the sofware that came with it would let me drag and drop what ever files I wante on the disk and then let me click the burn button when I was done filling it up. I've been looking for the longest time for software like that again but it seems like nowadays everything's automatic! Could somebody please tell me if anything like that still exists? Proferably in freeware! ;v)

I used an older version of Nero, for most of my burning needs.

I still have my 6.0 version around(best there is IMHO)

For older CD burning applications, especially free ones, try:

    www.filehippo.com

There you can get the newer or older versions of a lot of stuff

EDIT:Also keep in mind I've actually used this site before, and wouldn't recommend it, if it compromised your computers security. Meaning it's safe for the most part.
And this is a freeware site as well, not a warez one.

Well I've got notes on the software I don't want to lose and I'd like to put that on the disk too. And why is it so bad to drag and drop stuff?!

Last time I did a drag n drop, even with Nero InCD, all I got 6 months later when I went to use it was a spinning unreadable disc...

I use Imgburn, create ISO, then burn the ISO, and finally delete the original files and the ISO. They're smart enough to put in an automatic fill thing that corrects any errors, especially with .avi files which was my issue...

its unreliable, not all drives can read it and it can go badly wrong.

I've had various problems with it over the years. Discs recorded using that method do not last as long.

That's weird! I've got disks from like 5 years ago that still run just fine. *kisses his cheek I'm sorry you're having such rotten luck with it.

I have discs made about 8 years ago using that method that are no longer readable. Discs made the normal way still work.
