its pretty hard to choose a single game that win all of them, PS2 have quite alot of good games like Metal Gear Solid, Fatal Frame, Silent Hill, Resident Evil or Dot Hack for example.
yeah the ps2 has the largest library of games against any console ones I think could make it are.... Dark Cloud (series) GTA (series) Final Fantasy (series) Resident evil 4 goldeneye: rogue agent ratchet and clank (series) silent scope gran turismo (series) DDR (series)
Kingdom Hearts was also a great series, and i don't care if people try to say it's childish because it's disney, i still thoroughly enjoyed both games
Here are my Ps2 Games in Order 1 - Battle field 2 - The Best Game for 1st Person Shooter Army Game Alive, OnlinePlay Is Even Better, There Are About 200 / 500 People playing Everyday. I Played it yesterday and it was fun. 2 - GTA San Andreas - This is a must have game, seriously. you must have this game. 3 - Need For Speed (series) - Im Not a fan of racing games but this is the only racing game that catchs my attention like a sexy girl walking past me with a mini skirt waving in the wind, A Tank Tight Top and her saying hello to me 4 - Metal Gear Solid 3 - Im Inlove With All MGS games Due to the things you can do and the realism of the gameplay it is. Espestelly when your in the Forest (Which is Most of the game). Just Imagen, your 1 guy in real life in a Forest with no food trying to infultrate a Facility. Kill Any Animals you see for Survival (Food), Hide and Stealth Kill the enemy. they dont know what hit them. All MGS games are a Must Have. 5 - Dark Cloud (series) - Nothing to say about this game, Its just Extremly good 6 - Resident Evil 4 - I Hate Scary games (Because Im Gangster Like That) But this game is Just has somthing so good about it that i get hooked on to it. 7 - Ratchet And Clank 3 - This game was the best when it first came out and Millions of E.U Players were playing Online, But now there is that odd 5 people playing online. Single Player Is Good, But the things they say is just SOO FUNNYY !! 8 - Socom 2, Socom 3 - These games are Fantastic, i just love how you can hide in grass and things.

Final Fantasy series Medal Of Honour Soul Calibur GTA Resident Evil Silent Hill Ratchet and Clank Sly - yes the graphics are shite, but it's entertaining That game is horrible.

There's some shockingly bad games being named here.... Dot Hack ? Need for Speed ? Star Ocean:TTEOT ? And Resident Evil 4 is NOT scary.... If you think it is then god help you when you play the previous resi's and the silent hill series.... I like all the usual suspects....GTA, MGS, Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts..... Timesplitters 1,2 & 3...Tekken....Escape from Monkey Island A good game I came across a few years ago is Shadow of Memories
dragon quest 8, dragon ball z budokai 3, metal gear solid 3, metal gear solid 2, final fantasy 12, resident evil 4, tekken 5, god of war, god of war 2, okami, urban chaos: riot response, medal of honor series, silent hill series, forbidden siren series, etc. there are a lot of good games, dudes.
Wow, I feel like an outcast for liking Star Ocean: TTEOT now. I like most of the Atelier Iris games myself. The Ratchet & Clank games were pretty fun too. Final Fantasy XII was just too boring battle-wise for me to even bother finishing unfortunately, which is a shame considering everything else was pretty decent.
Well, from my current PS2 collection... Shadow Hearts: Covenant FFX FFXII (more or less) DMC3 Dragon Quest VIII Ape Escape 3 (it's fun, okay? Plus, I need to beat the Mesal Gear Solid mini-game...) Kingdom Hearts series I would put up some others, but I don't consider them as 'absolute best' in comparison to the other games' league.

Kingdom Hearts one and two ( and hopefully three!!! fingers crosed) they rules ffX ruled ffxii sucked! i bought it brand new and i lost interest in 2 days maybe its because i hadnt clocked ffx yet :S oh and ffx-2 is ok, i guess ALSO the best ever fifa games were 2004, and 2006 think about the gameplay -- much better
