Which do you prefer, Mac or PC? I personally LOVE PC's for the mere fact that they have a way bigger game selection. All my bud's who own a Mac just say there not gamers. I've known them too long to believe that. Sure, Mac's are good for Audio & Video, but can't a PC do the same? Frankly, there just here to "look good".

not true, macs are better than PCs at what they do, their main problem is they are expensive and specialised. And the Intel based ones suck.

I can't STAND Macs. PCs are the only computers worth buying to me.

I will admit Mac's are great for A/V, but like I said, I'm a gamer. Try playing WoW on a Mac, you'll get locked up about half the time and you end up having to reboot the bloody thing.

Not as often, and I know one or two tricks for reviving even supposidly dead macs. Plus the OS can run off the install disc, like a live CD

When WoW locks up on a Mac, you pretty much have to reboot it. When WoW locks up on a PC, you can usually just press the Windows key and end the program. Worst case, you have to put it in sleep mode, which obviously log's you out, wake it up and then end the program.

Plus, you can't upgrade a Mac yourself, which is crappy 'cause you have to pay some bloke to upgrade it. One of the best parts of having a PC is self maintenance.

I'm a ... Linux! :p ;D No viruses ever, free (as in free speech) and no need to ever defrag and you can emulate just about any game into linux with WINE.

They say a Mac is better if you are doing a graphics design course

Linux isn't a computer, it's an OS, but a very good one at that ;)

Windows is not a computer either. PC just means anything computery. My computer here quite happily dual-boots windows and ubuntu linux, and often gets liveCD'd for Backtrack linux (slax + hacktools) as well.

Also, time to play grammar nazi's with the "Are you a mac or a PC" title.

I am not a computer, I am a human being!

i've used a mac like years ago and was like what the hell... or how the hell do you... [it was the old 75mhz mac computer].

games, didn't the mac had better games compared to the pc back then?? eventually more people went to pc because it became cheaper and therefore more developers made pc games because of the larger demographic??

i still don't know how to use a mac or that i don't understand it's user interface.
on the subject of interface, didn't microsoft copy the mac interface for it's windows os??
    linux needs to be easier

mac innovate and windows immitate and duplicate

macs are expensive to buy, own and maintain while pcs are not expensive.
mac requires mac parts and manufacturers may gauge the prices, while pcs have multiple competetors and you have different prices and choice and do not require a specialist to install it.

i'd have to say pc, even though the os are not the best [windows [problems] and linux [too difficult]] it has a lot of options for games, software [apps] and hardware as well as a competitive price for everything.

    I'm a PC user.
Best fit to my budget, best for what I want to do (Game and school work), and viruses and such aren't a problem as long as you know what you are doing.
Also, upgrading is nice for PCs. Just get a top of the line motherboard, and you can always make it step up at fractions of the cost later. Bit harder to upgrade the processor on a Mac, as it is.

That's right; I don't see why you can't. Some sort of technical limitation I don't know that can only be pwned by the almighty Loonylion?

^and i'm sure their more expensive.

But i could see myself getting a Mac in the future because of some of the more creative things that i could do with it. Like garage band and other various programs.

I do Graphics design, & PC's work just as good as Macs when it comes to programs like Photoshop, Image-ready e.t.c,

Also Pc's are customizible thats the only advantage over the Mac, Macs are equaly great machines.

At university i'm all about the mac's. Great for photoshop work and video editing. But I'd never get one for home. Upgrades are impractical and pc's are better for gaming. Although for gaming you're never going to beat a good console, what with having to upgrade hardware every 6 months to be able to run the latest games at decent settings.
