Hey guys, Anime lover here :3
I want to know the names of some really good looking animes series (or movies):
    -visually
    -artistically

Movies that I have seen which fit this criteria:
    Vampire Hunter D: BloodLust
    Princess Monoke
The Girl Who Leapt Through Time
    Howl's Moving Castle
    Summer Wars
    Cencroroll
    Gurren Laggan
    Vampire Hunter - Darkstalkers' Revenge

I have already seen all studio ghibli films...

I checked out the recommendations and I don't see what is so visually or artistically stunning compared to just "regular" anime...I didn't know there were different levels of art quality...

Visually, the only two animes I can think of are Valkyria Chronicles and Lucky Star.
Well, those are really the only two animes that I've seen with the exception of Pokemon.

Valkyria Chronicles seems to have some fansubs floating around on TPB, even if it is Engrish...
Lucky Star has some dual audio and fansubs on demonoid.

well, the girl who leaped through time is a good example of what i mean...
there are some diffrences as well between the first episodes of dragonball, the art got better to tell you the thruth :3
    also, you can compare these:

    to

i know that does not make an anime necesserality better, but it is more visually stunning...

also, thanks other people, will check out :D

lol, i have actually seen that before, pretty funny...

I like Those Who Hunt Elves, but it isn't visually stunning...in my opinion.

Well then, based on that, I'd say Valkyria isn't quite as visually stunning, but it has a certain art style. Still very well done.
Even with your last example though, it felt like they spent more time on the detail on the backgrounds than the characters, like sticking a 2D drawing in a 3D world.

It kind of reminds me of Square spending so much time on FMVs, and how it looks absolutely nothing like the animation in-game.

And I totally forgot Dragonball was considered an anime...haha. Way below my standards on visual quality. In my mind, it was always that one cheap cartoon that was on in the morning when I was growing up. Never once did it register as anime...lol

So basically any anime that is clean, polished and doesn't look like Dragonball. haha

there are also some semi-older ones which have good or diffrent types of artistic visuals such as:
    Akira and Spirited Away

The Hellsing Ultimate OVA series has good visuals, and the TV series also wasn't too bad.

Trinity Blood has nice animation, but that's all it really has going for it.

    Oh, Katanagatari and Samurai Champloo.

Oh god, that's not an anime, that's a monstrosity to the world.

    moah yay....
    i ave also seen:
Xam'd Lost Memories (another good example), black lagoon, whitchblade, afro samurai, cowboy bebop, ghost in a shell, blood the last vampire (and because of it Blood+ as well)
which kinda fit the criteria mentioned...
also looking into: the tatami galaxy, house of five leaves, corpse princess, xxxholic

I like most anime, but i think that some are really borderline 3D mix...
An example of one that has 3D would be Origin: Spirits of the Past
At the beginning of the film you see a lot of 3D things sticking out...
I really like that it looks draw, rather than computerized 3d.
I understand that most are draw, and then computerized, but full 3D for me, kinda diminished the chances of me liking it :/
Either way, these are mostly found in robot anime (and samurai 7) so it's all good, pretty much...

seen trinity blood on adult swim, it's alright 7.5/10

lol, yeah i know, saw it on newgrounds a while back ago :3
