new rant... the goddamn motherfuckers at pj64-emu.com banned me! a paying member, that got scammed by a friend, wants to use the emulator he pays for, and gets fucking banned!!! what the fuck is wrong now days?!?!?! i'm sooo pissed right now! ....

Why PAY for emulators? AND THEN PAY FOR GETTING BANNED?!

 

Because people make them and take time out of their life to help out a target base that is normally ungrateful.

 

I banned him, for his abusive tone, even if I were to believe the story (which I don't) it is his own responsibility to ensure that the product he had purchased was not misused. Your anger should be taken out on your friend, rather than the service/product provider.

It just isn't, just because it is an emulator doesn't mean it should be free. I can see where you are coming from though. I do know that a 1.7 public release is still in the pipeline, that version will be free.

 

Usually, when you 'buy' an emulator online, it's not so much buying for the emulator. It's donating to the site with the newest version of that emulator being a bonus for donating. PJ64 v1.6 still works you know. And plus the people behind the emu probably have more incentive to continue making and supporting the emulator if they had some sort of payment or if like the site was self sustaining due to the donations, I'd imagine so anyways.

You're not exactly forced to use PJ64 v1.7, PJ64 v1.6 works perfectly fine if you haven't noticed. I look at PJ64 v1.6 and I don't see much of an incentive to get 1.7, although I haven't really looked at the differences yet so I can't really comment on that.

Used to be massively into N64 emulation, as it is, asides from some core fixes 1.6 plus Jabos/Orkins Direct3d or Glide64 (with wrapper) are fantastic to use.

The main games that don't work, Starwars Naboo, the other Star Wars one which I forgot the name of, and Indiana Jones don't work on any emulator/plugin combo that I know of. Unless you consider glitchy unfiltered slow graphics using the LLE plugins working

Yeah, Paper Mario crashes and the rest has alot of graphical problems...I'm banned from the P64 site or something so I can't download 1.7 T.T I MUST stick with 1.6

 

1.7 (not the beta) isn't even available yet

 

I mean the one available at the site.

 

Maybe 1.7 is a paid vaporware.
